Membership application for 2008 version

Cardiff Ski Club is primarily a racing club. We cater for people who’ve mastered the basics and would like to improve their technique or are interested in racing. We recommend that anyone wishing to join should have achieved level 3 of the Snowlife awards, or can demonstrate to the coaches that they have reached this standard.

Although some of our members just come and enjoy the training every week, others quickly start to enjoy the challenge of ski racing. The club enters teams into entry level races, where the emphasis is upon participation and fun as well as competition. Many of our members go on to compete in National Events held all round Britain each year, and some progress further – we have several members selected to the Welsh Ski Squad, and some who hold National age group titles.

Race training takes place on Tuesday evenings from 6pm until 7:30pm at Cardiff Ski Centre, Fairwater Park. Club members receive a reduced ski slope charge of one hours fee for the 90 minutes session plus a ‘pole tax’ of £2 per session, to cover the cost of broken slalom poles. All training sessions take place under the guidance of qualified race coaches.

Social events and Equipment sales are held during the year and all members are welcome. All events and information will be posted on the Club notice board in the Ski Centre and on the club web site.

Membership fees cover both the racing and non-racing family members for insurance purposes, and are based on the number of racing members in the family.

Fees for 2007 are:

First racing member                  £35.00 (includes non-racing parents/guardians)

Each extra racing member         £15.00

Non Racing supporter                £5.00

Please note that as skiing is an adventurous sport, the club cannot accept any liability in the event of accidents, loss or damage to personal equipment occurring during club activities.

From time to time the club may use pictures/recordings of members enjoying skiing events for publicity. However personal details will not be revealed and the club will not use the full name of any member in the accompanying text or caption without their consent. If you do NOT wish images of your child published please complete a Photo Opt out form.
